Description

I, Pated, am a one-man game studio dedicated to crafting original virtual experiences in the same way a cabinetmaker would create an art piece out of raw wood: with passion, dedication, and patience (a lot of patience). The name of this studio is at the same time my artist name / public name.

History

Beginnings

Already as a kid I was creating card games and board games all the time - creating my own figures out of clay or designing and printing my own cards. But despite my passion for my Amstrad and that new thing called video games, the complexity of game creation at that time killed my enthusiasm towards video game development. Years passed and with the rapid evolution of technology and the simplification of the game creation tools, it became clear that the game industry was mutating into something much more democratic. Independent game developers like Phil Fish or Markus Persson were among the first to help me understand that creating virtual worlds on your own - or with a very small team - was no longer something almost impossible to do as long as you are dedicated. So, one day of 2013, I took all my knowledge in illustration/animation/motion graphics and started to learn on my own how to code.
